Hi, I’m Danielle Bills of Village Therapy Services

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing psychotherapy in Pennsylvania. I am based in Chester County and have worked in the area for over a decade.

I’ve worked with people from all walks of life and, although we all have differences, one thing that connects us is our need to feel supported and heard while going through periods of change and transition. I’d love to work with you throughout yours. I’ve seen people who feel hope is lost and I’ve seen them rediscover themselves.

I started my career working as a hospice social worker; both with patients and family members during the bereavement process.

I transitioned to working with survivors of domestic violence as the counseling manager of a local domestic violence agency. I worked with women and children experiencing abuse, providing individual and group counseling, as well as advocacy and support in the court system.

My passion and reason for going into this field is working intimately with individuals in therapy. It is a sacred place and one that I feel privileged that people trust me with. For that reason I branched out to work exclusively with people of all walks of life as a psychotherapist with now over 10 years of experience.

As a psychotherapist my specialties include anxiety and depressive disorders, healing from trauma/ PTSD including working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and women’s health with a focus on perinatal and maternal mental health.

What I believe therapy should look like:

I believe the client should have autonomy over their mental health care and that there is no one size fits all box.

I believe in trauma-informed care, which most simply-put means looking at an individual from the lens of “what has happened to you” instead of “what is wrong with you.”

I believe we all have the capacity to change for the better as long as we are committed to taking the steps to do so.

I believe our diversity greatly impacts our experience of life and that race, ethnicity, culture, sex, gender and religion/spirituality play an enormous role in who we are.

I believe mistakes are essential in the change process and that we have to stop looking at them as “set backs,” but opportunities for growth.
